Yesterday, NetherRealm Studios put out a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath which focused on the Friendships that will be added to the game for everyone. Amongst the montage of the new friendships one showed Kitana and Mileena together. The thing is Mileena does not feature in Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable character, and has not been confirmed for the upcoming character pack that includes Fujin, Sheeva, and Robocop. In a tweet, the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account announced that yes Mileena is in the game briefly, but she will not be playable.

Mileena is one of the series’ biggest characters having been part of the game’s roster since Mortal Kombat II. In Mortal Kombat X she was one of the main antagonists but was not added into Mortal Kombat 11. Despite fans asking for Mileena to be added it seems NetherRealm is content to not have her as part of the packaged. Back on April 1st, Ed Boon joked that we would never seen Mileena in a Mortal Kombat title again.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will be available on May 26th as a separate purchase from the Kombat Pack season pass. Those who have not got Mortal Kombat 11 can get a bundle containing both the base game and Aftermath.
In our review for Mortal Kombat 11, Miguel wrote:
This game is the pinnacle of Mortal Kombat action. Fights are fluid, weighty, and gorgeous to look at. Unfortunately, that tightly-designed gameplay is bogged down by a grindy system of loot and consumables that only serves to artificially extend your playtime in the most tedious ways imaginable. There is so much heart and care put into this game, from the combat to the gorgeous visuals and memorable story, but that effort feels nullified by the desperate attempt to twist an iconic video game franchise into just another endlessly online service game.
