Microsoft Flight Simulator patch 2 coming soon, here is a preview of what to expect

Asobo Studio has announced that patch 2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is in its final stages of preparation, and it should be available within the next 10 days. While the studio has not released full patch notes yet, it has released a preview set stating what changes there will be. Asobo has confirmed there will be updates to the aircraft, the aerodynamics, the user interface, and animations among other changes. Asobo also confirmed it is working on its video series with an update on that expected next week. The world will be changes a bit too, and there will be new additions to the market. Microsoft Flight Simulator is remarkable. A recreation of the entire world that you can explore at your leisure, whether you want to put on a faux-airliner captain’s hat and take on some intercontinental flights, or just hop in a prop plane while wearing your pyjamas.   1. I wonder what Flight Simulater would be like on the XSS? It would be cheaper than buying a new graphics card and some RAM.

    • Should be pretty decent. The CPU is definitely more than good enough (the game needs to shift to DX12 to make the most of it though), the SSD would ensure load times are minimal and it’s bandwidth dependent anyway, so it’s really down to the GPU. A somewhat comparable RX 5500XT GPU can handle the game at 1440p30 on medium settings, though we’ll see what they can do with console optimisations.

    • Even if you can’t run it as graphically well on your PC as on the XSS, I’d still advise considering the PC version simply for the Mods.
      There are communities working on the A320X, 747 and 787, adding loads of functionality to the aircraft for free! There’s also loads of freeware scenery that’s been released for famous landmarks etc. I imagine on Xbox, you’ll only be able to use addons released through the marketplace instead of just being able to grab from github.

      • That’s just what I was thinking, there’ll be loads of mods for it that I doubt will be released on XSS/XSX. Plus I normally play games like FS while watching something like the F1 practice sessions which I couldn’t if I was using a console.
