Blizzard had some news for those waiting on Diablo IV, and that news was the confirmation of another class. In Diablo IV, players will be able to play as the Rogue class character. She joins the already confirmed classes of Sorceress, the Druid, and the Barbarian. A trailer for the Rogue has been released by Blizzard giving her a cinematic entry before showing some gamplay which includes her very fast attacks against enemies.
Here is a description of what players can expect from the Rogue:
Diablo IV was first announced in 2019 during that year’s BlizzCon. Diablo IV will have a much bigger focus on horror with a more medieval, gothic depiction of hell and its denizens. There will be plenty of blood and guts as well as occult symbology. Barriga promises that fights will be gruesome and there will be no clean victories. The game world itself which sounds more dynamic and open than past games. Inspired by Diablo II, it will be full of friendly and enemy NPCs as well as players who you can interact with and even hunt in PvP zones.
Will Diablo IV release in 2021?
What is definitely known is that Diablo IV will not be releasing this year, as this was confirmed in Activision Blizzard’s latest financial statement. Speaking about the release of both Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV, Chief Financial Officer Dennis Durking said:
“We expect Blizzard’s net bookings to grow given the momentum in World of Warcraft and the other growth initiatives we have in the business. Our outlook does not include Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 launching in 2021. And while Diablo Immortal is progressing well, and we anticipate its launch later this year we don’t have any material contribution from the title in our outlook presently.”
We will have to wait and see whether the game will be released in 2022.
