There’s a good chance the actual Resident Evil Village file size will be a little beefier following a potential day one patch though we’ve yet to get confirmation via Capcom. Expect the PlayStation versions of Resi 8 to be floating around the 50GB mark, too.
It’s worth noting that this includes both the singleplayer Resident Evil Village as well as Re:Verse, the complementary online multiplayer mode which Capcom has bundled in. On its own, the Re:Verse file size is 15GB which brings Village’s size down to around 35GB. You can read our thoughts on Re:Verse here as we went hands on with the recent closed beta.

For reference, Resident Evil 7 weighs in at just over 21GB on Xbox One – 30GB, if you have the Gold Edition with extra DLC installed.
Resident Evil Village picks up soon after the events of Resident Evil 7 with players reprising their role as newcomer Ethan Winters. Having been reunited with his wife, Mia, he soon finds himself caught up in another caper, this time involving werewolves and vampires. It’s an intriguing change in direction for the series which has mainly focused on bioweapons and zombie outbreaks.
More recently, Capcom have been knocking it out of the park with two back-to-back Resident Evil remakes. 2019’s Resident Evil 2 was a masterful modernisation of the survival horror hit with Resi 3 following the year after with a more action-focused twist.
Resident Evil Village will launch on May 7th for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).
