Avengers – Black Panther: War for Wakanda DLC is coming later this year – 2021 content roadmap revealed

Square Enix has given us a fresh look at the future of Marvel’s Avengers, providing a roadmap of upcoming content planned through 2021. The most exciting of these? Why, it’s the Black Panther War for Wakanda DLC that is coming later this year.

The trailer sees AIM’s Dr. Monica Rappaccini up to no good once again, seemingly being roped into an attack on the hidden kingdom of Wakanda by Klaw. He’s obviously after the Vibranium that is so prevalent and a foundational element of Wakandan society. The only character that can stand in their way? Well, Black Panther of course!

Seemingly before we get to that point, the 2021 content roadmap will play out starting with Operation Hawkeye Future Imperfect launching today with the next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game.

After a rocky start, it looks like Square Enix are committed to the future of Marvel’s Avengers, for the time being at least. We scored Marvel’s Avengers 7/10 in our Day One review, Jim had this to say:

Marvel’s Avengers offers a new approach for a superhero video game, yet one that still feels all too familiar for anyone who’s played Destiny, The Division, or Anthem. It’s eye-popping in its technical prowess as well as how much it leans on live service hooks, anticipating players will come back day after day. And a lot of players definitely will, especially if they can squad up with friends. Past its flaws and behind the grind, Marvel’s Avengers is still a fun superhero brawler that has plenty of room to grow in the coming months.
