Square Enix had a few mobile game announcements in their first Square Enix Presents stream today, giving us a new trailer for Just Cause Mobile, revealing a new Hitman mobile game, Hitman Sniper Assassins, and the augmented reality Space Invaders Take Over Reality.
Let’s start with Hitman Sniper Assassins, which sees Square Enix Montreal moving on from the Go series of Hitman games. Hitman Sniper Assassins name implies that this is a mobile spin on the console Hitman sniper spin-off modes, most recently seen as a free bonus for Hitman 2. In these games, you set up shot as a different Agent (or two) from the Hitman universe, using your sniper rifle to take out enemies from afar. Hitman Sniper Assassins is coming out in 2021.
A new Space Invaders AR is a collaboration between Square Enix Montreal and Taito, looking to give the venerable game a modern twist by integrating augmented reality technology. We don’t quite know what the game will look like just yet, but we can take a guess as you have to fight against the invading Space Invaders as they come down to Earth… from Space! (who would have thought it?)
And finally for this post, another trailer has been released for Just Cause: Mobile, a free to play mobile game coming to iOS and Android in 2021. Just Cause: Mobile looks to capture some of the grappling, gliding and shooting gameplay from the main series, but do so in top-down gameplay.
You’ll create your own customisable agent and join Firebrand, a division of The Agency. Your goal is to stop a new mercenary group named Darkwater, collaborating with characters from across the Just Cause series, including Annika & Teo from Just Cause 3, and maybe even Rico Rodriguez himself. The game will have both single player and multiplayer modes.
