Microsoft has revealed a batch of new, returning and upgraded games coming to Xbox Game Pass through the first half (and a bit) of April, headlined by Grand Theft Auto V, Zombie Army 4: Dead War this week, and building up to the previously announced day one addition of MLB The Show 21 on 20th April.
GTA V has previously bounced back and forth between game streaming services. After first having a stint on PlayStation Now, GTA V was featured on Xbox Game Pass in early 2020, before being replaced by Red Dead Redemption 2 in May. It’s still one of the biggest games in the world, and Take Two are now doubt happy to bring the game to Xbox Game Pass subscribers for a few months to try and lure them into GTA Online more permanently. Oh, and the game will be playable both on Xbox and via the cloud.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is another solid addition, as a fun co-op zombie shooter, but it’s indicative of the differing strategies that Microsoft and Sony have. It’s joining Xbox Game Pass just a few days after Sony threw it into PlayStation Plus!
Elsewhere, Disneyland Adventures and Rush: A Disney/Pixar adventure have been updated on Game Pass to be available for play over the cloud – they’re already available for console and PC – and 15th April will add ID@Xbox games Rain on Your Parade and Pathway.
Here’s the dates and platforms that these games will be available on:
April 8
- GTA V (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Cloud Gaming)
- Zombie Army 4: Dead War (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Cloud Gaming)
- Disneyland Adventures (Now on Cloud Gaming)
- Rush: A Disney/Pixar Adventure (Now on Cloud Gaming)
April 12

April 15
- Rain on Your Parade (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Cloud Gaming)
- Pathway (PC)
April 20
- MLB The Show 21Â (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Cloud Gaming)
Microsoft have also confirmed that the following games will be leaving the service in the middle of this month. EA are cleaving older Madden and NHL games from EA Play, with newer versions available to play and sure to have more engagement from subscribers.
April 15
- Deliver Us the Moon (Console and PC)
- Gato Roboto (Console and PC)
- Wargroove (Console and PC)
April 16 (EA Play)
- Madden 15 (Console)
- Madden 16 (Console)
- Madden 17 (Console)
- Madden 18 (Console)
- Madden 25 (Console)
- NHL 18 (Console)
- NHL 19 (Console)
Now’s your last chance to play Deliver Us the Moon on the service, though the removal is sure to be tied to that game’s next-gen upgrade that’s coming soon! Maybe it’s better to wait for some spiffier graphics?
