Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase takes place on June 13th, confirms Microsoft

Microsoft has confirmed the date and time of the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, with that being Sunday June 13th at 6pm BST, during the E3 weekend. Currently, we do not know the exact details of what Microsoft and Bethesda will show during the showcase though there will be a lot of games, including world premieres of new titles, as well as news of even more games being added to Xbox Game Pass.

Halo: Infinite is all but guaranteed to be shown during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, with gameplay likely to be demoed ahead of Chief’s return later this year. Forza Motorsport 8 will also likely get a showing with news being quiet about that game since its initial reveal last year. Microsoft will also show new titles and it will be interesting to see if these new games will be fully exclusive to the Xbox Series X|S or if they will remain cross generational for now. Microsoft may also announce more studio acquisitions as it continues to build its portfolio to create a large stable of development teams.

On Bethesda’s side Starfield is probably going to be the centrepiece. The game has been suffering from a few leaks in recent weeks, and there are rumours it will be an Xbox Series X|S exclusive, which would not be a huge shock since Microsoft now own Bethesda. It is unlikely that The Elder Scrolls VI will be shown just yet, though there could be another teaser. What we definitely will not see will be Deathloop or Ghostwire: Tokyo which are PlayStation exclusives in development at Bethesda, unless a new deal has been struck to make these games multiplatform.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. Hugely important E3 for Microsoft this year. They are coming into this summer with a huge amount of goodwill, courtesy of Game Pass and their pro-consumer approach, but their next gen systems have been out for 6months now and they haven’t delivered on the exclusives front yet. I love my Series S and am hoping they have lots to say about the next 12 months.

    • Last year was the important year. Now they’re trying to catch up with Sony already. PS5 sales seem to be way ahead of X/S sales. Nobody seems that interested in the Series S (it hangs around for days when the PS5 and Series X sell out instantly). I don’t think an expensive subscription service is going to do enough. If it was, they’d be at least close to Sony in hardware sales so far.

On the other hand, they’ll probably do a lot better than they did with the XBone. And Game Pass on PC can give them lots of money without having to take a hit from selling the hardware at a loss. So I’m sure they’ll be happy.
