The Back 4 Blood betas have been dated, sign ups now open

Back 4 Blood will be getting two betas this summer, the early access beta will run from August 5th to the 9th, while an open beta will run from August 12th to the 16th. The betas will be available on  Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC, and will include cross-play.

You can register for the open beta by signing up here. Pre-ordering the game grants entry into the early access beta and some players who register via the link may have a chance to get into the early access portion of the beta. You will need a WB Games Account in order to redeem their open beta code but you will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription or Xbox Live membership.

The beta will have five different Cleaners to play as along with a variety of weapons, cards to build decks with, and Ridden to slay. It will include two co-op PvE missions and two PvP maps as well as the ability to explore Fort Hope.

Turtle Rock Studios and WB Games have confirmed that the game has been delayed to October 12th. The game was due to be released on June 22nd for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Instead, Turtle Rock has stated that the delay is necessary as more time is needed for development.

In a statement, Turtle Rock Studios wrote:

“Turtle Rock Studios is working hard to make Back 4 Blood the best game it can possibly be at launch and the team needs more time to do this. Therefore, we will release Back 4 Blood on October 12, 2021. “

Turtle Rock Studios were the team that created the co-op shooter sensation Left 4 Dead while they were a part of Valve. However, when Back 4 Blood was announced back in March 2019, Turtle Rock were very keen to make it clear that this is not Left 4 Dead 3, but rather its own thing. You might not believe them considering some of the very archetypal zombies shown in the trailers, but it’s clear that they are trying to innovate on the decade-old formula.
