The Sims 4: Cottage Living has been announced as the next expansion to the hit life sim. The country village-themed expansion pack will be coming to PC and Mac, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on 22nd July.
Cottage Living will take players to the idyllic town of Henford-on-Bagley, discovering the lore of this little place, exploring the countryside, going on picnics and forest walks, and taking on the new cross-stitching hobby. The heart of the town’s social life is The Gnome’s Arms pub, where you can kick back with the locals.
The expansion adds a bunch of new features like the ability to farm your own produce, go foraging in the wild, and go shopping at the local market. If you grow a particularly impressive vegetable, you can enter it into the Finchwick Fair alongside your prized cows and chickens, which you can also raise alongside llamas, getting fresh milk, eggs and wool for food and crafts.

Grow your own food in The Sims 4 Cottage Living
Living out in the country, you’ll be able to befriend other animals as well, earning the trust of wild rabbits and birds like you’re a Disney princess, as they start to bring you gifts and help you around the garden. This is where it does get a little bit “legally distinct”, as there’s a complete Peter Rabbit inspiration from the little bun-bun hopping around in the trailer, wearing a cute little jumper. Obviously it’s not Peter Rabbit, because Peter Rabbit wears a blue jacket with brass buttons, and this one’s wearing a jumper. Just beware there’s foxes on the prowl…
All in all, it looks like a thoroughly charming expansion tot he long-running life sim. The Sims 4 Cottage Living Expansion Pack will be out on 22nd July, with a princely price of $39.99. Pricey, but hopefully there’s enough content here to justify the cost for long-paying fans.
