Lemnis Gate’s time-looping strategy FPS launches in August – day one in Xbox Game Pass

Frontier Foundry and Ratloop Games have announced that time-loop strategy FPS game Lemnis Gate will release on 3rd August 2021. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one for both Xbox and PC.

Lemnis Gate will be priced at a thoroughly reasonable £15.49/$19.99/€16.79, with pre-orders saving 20% off that price and unlocking an exclusive KARL operative and weapon skin. Ahead of launch, PC players will be able to go hands on with the game in an open beta taking place on Steam, to let people get a hand on the game early.

The time-looping gameplay of Lemnis Gate challenges both your strategic noggin and the twitchiness of your fingertips through each 25 second time loop. In both 1v1 and 2v2 battles, players take turn to spawn one of their operatives and set in place a series of actions in the objective-based game modes, each sequence of actions is layered on top, able to cancel out previously placed runs in a strategic battle to come out on top. New for today’s trailer, Ratloop has revealed the Tectonic Wells map.

We’ve gone hands on with the game again, trying out the new map and also a 2v2 ‘Teammates Play Together’ mode, where both players on a team put their actions in place together. In our preview, I said:

Lemnis Gate continues to delight one side of my brain, the hardcore sci-fi fan side, while smoothing over the other, the strategic planning side. It’s such a cool concept and one that I’m sure will appeal to many, but there is a pretty steep learning curve to get over.

Definitely one worth checking out, in our books.
