Nintendo has revealed all of the maps and minigames that will feature in Mario Party Superstars when it releases for Nintendo Switch on 29th October. The game draws from the N64 originals for its selection of 5 maps, but its 100 minigames come from across the first 10 home console entries in the party game series.

The final three boards were revealed in the Nintendo Direct stream last night.

The five maps are Peach’s Birthday Cake and Yoshi’s Tropical Island from Mario Party, Space Land and Horror Land from Mario Party 2 and Woody Woods from Mario Party 3. All have been remade and spruced up with modern graphics.

You won’t find that list on an official Nintendo website, but rather in a video that was uploaded to the game’s page by Nintendo Japan, and quickly jotted down by Mario Party Legacy. You can see the video here.

While 100 minigames is a healthy offering, there is some disappointment that there’s just five boards included (though the series does typically have one final unlockable board as well), and that Nintendo are charging full price for a remake/remaster when there’s still simmering discontent over the direction that Super Mario Party took and the lack of support after launch. At the very least, Mario Party Superstars will have online multiplayer from the off – online play was three years late for Super Mario Party! – both for minigames and for playing the full Mario Party modes.

  1. Should have been (free) DLC for the very bare Switch game
