Saints Row trailer explores the districts of Santo Ileso

Saints Row Header

Saints Row has a new trailer out and this one explores some of the districts that players will be causing havoc in, as aim to take control of Santo Ileso with the Saints. This trailer for Saints Row focuses on the districts of Rancho Provedencia, Lakeshore, and Monte Vista. These three areas are controlled by different gangs, and if the Saints want to gain control then they will need to conquer each one in succession.

Here are more details about each of the three districts in Saints Row.

  • Rancho Provedencia – Los Panteros territory, home to the iconic old Scorpion factory where they work on their precious cars as well as other industries like the Panther Juice Hot Sauce factory.
  • Lakeshore is controlled by Marshall, practically owned by it – an urban jungle of skyscrapers and businesses, marked by Marshall’s iconic HQ building – you can’t miss it on the skyline.
  • Monte Vista is home to the rich and powerful – and also where the anarchist group The Idols hold their outrageous parties in gated homes, destroying rich people stuff is kind of their thing.

The new Saints Row entry in the series will effectively wipe the slate clean from all of the game that have come before, with the Saints Row The Third developer deciding that they really didn’t have anywhere else to take their original game series and outlandish storyline that they had cooked up. So, they’ve hit the big red reset button and chosen to try to update the game to be more relevant for the 2020s. The Boss – a fully customisable character with more options than ever before – teams up with mastermind Eli, getaway driver Neenah, and fun-loving DJ Kevin. Three of the four are drawn from the three gangs, but want to break out and do something new.

In our preview article The Saints Row reboot is staying true to the series’ explosive silliness, Stefan wrote:

All in all, Saints Row feels like the only place that Volition could really take their franchise. A new origin story with new characters and a new setting, all of which Volition hopes will feel more relevant to the modern day, but still with some of that sensationalised Saints Row spice to the action.

Saints Row will be available on February 25th, 2022 for  PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
