Disney have announced a series of promotions that are collected under the banner “Bring home the bounty”. Every week from now until December 28th they will be revealing something new for the Star Wars universe including clothing, collectables, and other assorted tat. There might even be a new Star Wars game.

An image posted by Disney seems to show a video game controller for week 10 which begins on December 14th, hinting that there may be a game reveal. The date is just a few days after The Game Awards so if there is a new game it may be teased there with the full reveal a few days later.

A new Star Wars game?

EA used to hold an exclusive license to create Star Wars games but that exclusivity expired last year and now Disney are farming out Star Wars to all sorts of developers. Most recently Quantic Dream were rumoured to be working on a title.

The rumour came from French YouTuber Gautoz who said “[Quantic Dream] have now finished their contract with Sony and will be signing with Disney. It looks like they will be working on a Star Wars game”. This seems to have been backed up by industry tipster Tom Henderson who posted an image showing a character from Quantic Dream’s Detroit with lightsabers across his face.

Of course it might not be a new Star Wars game announcement, Star Wars: Hunters is set for release on Switch and Mobile next year so we might get an update on that. It could also be our first look at the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake which was announced as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

There’s also a chance it might be Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, it’s never been officially announced but as the first title sold way over what EA expected a sequel is certainly on the cards, or something less exciting such as Star Wars skins in Fortnite.
