God of War PC version announced, no longer PlayStation exclusive

God of War Ragnarok Secrets 500

It’s official – God of War is coming to PC. A Steam version of the game is now available to pre-order with a release date set for January 14, 2022.

Now even more gamers will get to enjoy the 2018 reboot which quickly became a flagship title for the PlayStation brand.

God of War isn’t the only former PS4 exclusive to appear on PC. Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone are also available to buy on Steam.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Edition is also coming to PC in 2022 – it will include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy. Which PlayStation exclusive will be the next to jump over to PC? Bloodborne, perhaps?

The God of War PC release boasts some new features. Here’s a technical rundown:

High Fidelity Graphics

Dial in your settings via a wide range of graphical presets and options including higher resolution shadows, improved screen space reflections, the addition of GTAO and SSDO, and much more.

NVIDIA® DLSS and Reflex Support

Quality meets performance. Harness the AI power of NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) to boost frame rates and generate beautiful, sharp images on select Nvidia GPUs. Although the announcement is sure to enrage some of the more sensitive PlayStation fans out there, it’s a good move by Sony. God of War is already a few years old with most core PS4 and PS5 gamers already owning a copy. Launching on PC will open the gates to an even wider fanbase, getting them charged up for God of War: Ragnarok.
