For Honor update 2.31 has arrived in tandem with the game’s Halloween event. All warriors will need to update their game to version 2.31 in order to play online. Thankfully, the file size isn’t too big, weighing in at 1.78GB on PS4 and Xbox One, and 2.65GB on PC.

Although mainly aimed at bug fixes, For Honor 2.31 also looks to balance the game’s roster of playable heroes. After reworking Shugoki, the club-wielding, belly-slapping brute, Ubisoft has nerfed this formidable fighter following player feedback.

For Honor’s Shugoki is now more prone to attack with his Demon Ball move no longer being uninterruptible. He’s also had his super sprint speed reduced, as well as the duration of his Staggering Blow feat. These smart changes in the latest For Honor update will hopefully make Shugoki a less dominant pick in For Honor without completely shredding his competitive viability.

Improvements

SHUGOKI

  • Removed Uninterruptible Stance from Demon Ball

Developer’s Comment: Shugoki players could use Demon’s Ball in the middle of a group fight and avoid being punished for it, and in fact teammates could pile damage onto the victim.

By removing the defensive properties on Shugoki and its victim during the move, other players should now be able to interrupt it.

We also fixed a bunch of minor issues on the attack, which prevented players from blocking/parrying the attack when interrupted at just the right time.

  • Lowered Shugoki’s Super Sprint movement to 7.25m/s (from 8.5m/s)

Developer’s Comment: Reducing Shugoki’s mobility a bit here, part of the intent is to slightly reduce his overall effectiveness.

  • Reduced Staggering Blow duration to 20s (from 45s)

Developer’s comment: This should tone down Staggering Blow without taking away from its impact on combat. Players will have to be more mindful of when they use Staggering Blow to be as effective as before.

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue that caused the Nobushi’s “III Winds” ornament to float or clip on some helms (FH-1977)

For Honor is currently in Year 5 Season 3 (Y5S3) with a new hero due to be released before the end of the year.

Ubisoft’s unique fighting game is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s also playable on newer systems including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with visual improvements.
