The free Xbox Games with Gold for February 2022 have been revealed, with four free being handed out to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers over the course of the month. It’s the same story as usual, with a selection of games that can get you through the shortest month on the calendar.

What are February 2022’s Xbox Games with Gold?

The four games are the usual mixture of two Xbox One titles and two Xbox or Xbox 360 games that can be played via backward compatibility. Everything is obviously playable on Xbox Series X|S as well. The four games will be made available at different points through the month, as follows:

So, do February’s Games with Gold add up to a good month for subscribers, or will they disappoint in comparison to what Sony is offering with PlayStation Plus? Let’s dive in.

The headline act is Broken Sword 5, as George Stobbart and Nico Collard return to uncover another deep and dangerous mystery. Originally released in two episodes after a crowdfunded development, the game plays much better as a single point & click adventure.

The second game, Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, a side-scrolling endless runner where you will run, jump, slide and dash to a soundtrack by Danime-sama.

Hydrophobia launched all the way back in 2010 for Xbox 360, and we loved it! In our review, we said:

“Hydrophobia is a really good game in comparison to all the recent examples in the genre. The water tech and lack of any sort of loading times will grab headlines but when you push those to one side there is an extremely competent game here too. It compares favourably with the full, disc-based retail games but within the download space it is completely without peers. This game has the potential to change the way we think about downloadable titles and the way publishers think about selling them to us. It would still be a bargain at twice the price.”

Finally there’s Band of Bugs, a turn-based strategy game where you marshal your buggy troops.

Can I still download the January’s 2022 Games with Gold Games?

Yes! You’ve still got the weekend to grab most of last month’s games. Due to Microsoft’s staggered windows Radiant Silvergun has already exited the service, but the the other three games are still available:
