Summer Game Fest is really kicking off today, 9th June, with the main game reveal showcase leading into a Day of the Devs stream, Devolver Digital, and more streams over the next few days, leading up to the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on 12th June and beyond.
The main Summer Game Fest stream promises to show off “what’s next in gaming with huge new game announcements, world premieres, special guests, and much more”. The show kicks off at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST and is expected to run for 90 – 120 minutes in length. You can watch it on YouTube and Twitch, or… here with this handy embed:
This is the third Summer Game Fest showcase, and it’s the second time that it’s fully supplanted E3. E3 2022 has been fully cancelled, but with all of these game streams still happening in the start of June, this has been dubbed ‘Not E3’ by many. There’s also a strong push behind ‘Summer Games Fest’, which kind of feels like a better name since there’s more than one game being showcased. Regardless, and despite the above promises, frontman Geoff Keighley has warned not to expect too may earth shattering reveals, so temper your expectations.
We do know that we’ll get to see more of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Street Fighter 6, The Callisto Protocol, and Gotham Knights, but what else could be shown? The list of 30 developers and publishers taking part includes:
2K, Activision, Atlus, Bandai Namco, Bloober Team, Capcom, Coffee Stain, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Digital Extremes, DotEmu, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Focus Entertainment, Frost Giant Studios, Humble Games, Level Infinite, Mediatonic, MiHoYo, Netflix, PlayStation, Raw Fury, Samsung Gaming Hub, Sega, Skybound Games, Square Enix, Steam, Studio MDHR, Tribeca Festival, Warner Bros. Games, and Xbox.
We also know that this stream will lead into a small-scale press-only preview event over the next two days. Our man on the ground will be Miguel, so watch out for the games and previews he’s able to pull together through the next week.
