Digimon Survive gameplay trailer shows battle techniques

Digimon Survive has a new trailer that focuses on the gameplay that players will encounter. The footage includes a very quick look at the world map, conversations, and the battle sequences that will be encountered during the game. The footage highlights the importance of conversation with both allies and enemies alike, with the outcomes potentially providing bonuses.

If you have a conversation with your allies during battle you may improve their stats, while conversing with an enemy could turn them to an ally. This will then mean your own team gets bigger. In addition, conversations outside of battles will also impact relationships with other characters. The footage also shows different gear that can be equipped that can also provide boosts.

Digimon Survive was first announced back in 2018 with an initial release date of 2019. That did not happen. In 2020, Bandai Namco confirmed that Digimon Survive would be pushed back to 2021 due to the pandemic which saw a lot of delays across the industry. Of course, the game did not release in 2021 either due to further delays.

The story outline for Digimon Survive reads as follows. “When Takuma Momozuka finds himself lost on a school camping trip, he’ll be transported to a mysterious and dangerous world full of creatures called Digimon. On his journey, he’ll meet many companions, Digimon and human alike! Join Takuma as he searches for a way back home in this visual novel with turn-based battles.”

Digimon Survive’s release date has been set for July 29th. The game is set to release on PS4, Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
