Dead Space Remake was announced in July 2021 with EA Motive aiming to bring the 2008 horror classic to modern consoles. Now, the Dead Space Remake Xbox store page has gone live, and along with the original teaser trailer three screenshots from the game have been uploaded too. The three screenshots show Isaac in different parts of the USG Ishimura, with one of the images showing being charged down by a necromorph. You can check out the shots below.
If you need a reminder of the Dead Space synopsis here it is. “Isaac Clarke is an everyman engineer on a mission to repair a vast mining ship, the USG Ishimura, only to discover something has gone horribly wrong. The ship’s crew has been slaughtered and Isaac’s beloved partner, Nicole, is lost somewhere on board. Now alone and armed with only his engineering tools and skills, Isaac races to find Nicole as the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura unravels around him. Trapped with hostile creatures called Necromorphs, Isaac faces a battle for survival, not only against the escalating terrors of the ship but his own crumbling sanity.”
When we reviewed the original Dead Space we said, “Dead Space is so good at this that you’ll forget you’re playing a video game. I know, it’s a cliche, but it’s totally deserved here: the way the HUD is presented, as a floating hologram in from of you, the way that shops and upgrade stations are totally integrated into the environment, the way that cut-scenes always play out directly in front of you without forcing you to watch or even remove control from the player: it’s all brilliantly done and absolutely crucial in keeping you locked into the game.”
Dead Space Remake will be released on January 27th, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
