Spider-Man: Miles Morales PC release date set for November

Sony has announced that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will release for PC on 18th November 2022, following on from the launch of Spider-Man Remastered in August.

With the port once again being handled by Nixxes, you can expect the same thorough effort to make this a truly PC-native game. Most of the features and custom settings will be exactly the same as with Spider-Man Remastered, given that it shares a game engine with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but this does take the next step in a handful of ways.

So what’s in common? Well, there’s all the various graphics settings for detail and quality, and that includes ray-traced reflections at a number of quality levels. They go hand in hand with the newly added ray-traced shadows for outdoor light from the Sun and Moon.

The game has also been fully optimised for ultra-wide monitors, with 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 all supported – the cinematics will max out at 32:9.

Most exciting for people rich and lucky enough to grab the latest GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will have day one support for DLSS 3. This combines Super Resolution, Frame Generation and Reflex to boost frame rates like never before – the frame generation uses AI to concoct completely new frames, which is basically witchcraft. Naturally, DLSS 2 will also be supported for previous Nvidia GPU generations, and we expect XeSS and FSR 2.0 support for Intel and AMD GPUs respectively.

Given the broad spectrum of graphics options, resolutions and frame rates that gamers might like to have these days, Sony has helpfully provided detailed specifications for different performance targets.

Miles Morale PC Specs

There’s no word on Steam Deck, but Nixxes worked on supporting this handheld PC with Spider-Man Remastered, and by our account worked very well. In our Spider-Man Remastered PC review, Dom said:

“The arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PC brings one of PlayStation’s signature stars to a new platform. It looks fantastic, plays well across a variety of setups, and is one of the best games of the last five years. It is, in other words, essential, though you might want to wait for it to go on sale.”
