FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have confirmed that DLC for the hit game Elden Ring is currently in development. At present the only thing that has been announced in the name of the expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. No release date was announced but I suspect you may have to wait a while, FromSoftware take their time creating games.

Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki teased the DLC during The Game Awards 2022,  “As for Elden Ring, we have several more things we want to do” he commented.

Bandai Namco recently announced that Elden Ring had shipped 20 million copies, a big hit for the publisher. They also teased DLC in the press release accompanying the sales news, “The companies would like to thank everyone who has played this game from the bottom of their hearts, and will continue to develop various ways for the fans to enjoy the world of Elden Ring in the future.”

The title has one multiple Game of The Year awards including trophies from DICE, The Game Awards, and it was our Overall Game of The Year winner here at thesixthaxis.

We scored Elden Ring top marks, 10/10 in our review back in February 2022. “Elden Ring is the game Souls fans have been waiting for,” said Jason. “From the open world design, to riding into battle on Torrent’s back, and the dark narrative woven through the world, this is a clear Game of the Year frontrunner that will have us all ensnared for a long time to come. ”
