Something for the Weekend – 09/09/23

Starfield Header

The Rugby World Cup kicked off in Paris last night, so watching rugby is sure to dominate most of my weekend in the absence of Formula 1. Of course, there’s also the Payday 3 open beta, which I might try to find the time to dabble with. What have you got planned for this sunny weekend?

Games in Review and Featured Articles

The reviews this week looked at two of the biggest launches of the year for RPG fans. Our Starfield review still needs a bit more time in the oven, but you can read our first thoughts:

Once again there was a plethora of previews to enjoy too. Stefan went hands on with Cities: Skylines 2, which he said “is shaping up to be a pretty much a perfect example of a sequel”, and also enjoyed the nostalgia trip in Star Trek: Infinite.

Dom meanwhile got ‘stuck’ in to Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, which attempts to broaden the appeal without loosing the core mechanics of the previous titles’. Lastly, he shared his thoughts on the 2D hack n’ slash, Astra: Knights of Veda, and the colourful RTS, Songs of Silence.

Rounding out the week, What We Played included Starfield, Sea of Stars & Under The Waves.
