Amazon’s Fallout TV series has got its first teaser trailer, and a release date, with the studio confirming the series will be available to stream from April 12th. The series focuses on a Vault Dweller from Vault 33 making the way to the surface, learning to survive in a new world 200 years after the bomb’s fell.

The description for Fallout the TV series says, “Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them. From executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creators of Westworld, starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins and more. Arriving April 12 on Prime Video.”

The teaser trailer seems to be accurate to the games. The vault dweller uniforms are instantly recognisable, as is the power armour of the Brotherhood of Steel. There are all manner of creatures roaming the Fallout series world, instantly recognisable from the games too. We do not know the full synopsis but it looks like Vault 33’s population, like many others, is falling apart.

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,” said Nolan back for the show’s 2020 announcement. “Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

Bethesda’s Todd Howard (who will serve as an Executive Producer on the show) said, “Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring ‘Fallout’ to the screen. But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios.”
