Funstock, the retailer that specialises in Evercade hardware and games, has announced it will be suspending orders from the US due to the De Minimis exemption being scrapped. Funstock has stated that all existing pre-orders will be fulfilled with additional costs being absorbed instead of passed on to customers. You can read the statement from Funstock below.
Funstock has suspended new orders for US customers (effective August 28) due to the suspension of the De Minimis exemption and courier service updates. A 30% import fee now applies to products (made in China). At this time, we cannot offer the service for customers to pay this cost to us ahead of shipment. This is something we will investigate further and monitor the ongoing situation. US customers can browse the site but cannot make purchases until further notice. This does not affect Canada or other regions.Â
There are a number of pre-orders at present with Funstock for US customers. As a gesture of goodwill and appreciation to our dedicated US customers, we will honour all existing pre-orders at no additional cost to you. These will be fulfilled directly by Funstock, with Blaze absorbing the costs on this occasion only. There will be no need to contact our service teams as we will send as normal. We do not foresee any further requests from couriers or local governments for extra payment for duties or tariffs in relation to these order shipments. However, please note that once dispatched, we have no control and are not responsible for any further charges if they apply – as per our Shipping Terms & Conditions.”
As the company states, people from other countries can freely pre-order items from Funstock’s website including Evercade hardware and software.
