Nintendo has announced that an Indie World Showcase will take place tomorrow, 3rd March at 2PM UK time – that’s 3PM CET for Europe, 9AM ET and 6AM PT for North America.
This showcase will be short and sweet, with a tight 15 minute runtime which will be packed with “news and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.”
I can’t quite remember what the next meme Indie game launch everyone has fixated on since the release of Silksong last year, so I’m just going to bandy about that we might get some announcements for… Haunted Chocolatier, Witchbrook, Vampire Crawlers, and… does The Duskbloods being self-published by FromSoftware make it an indie game? Probably not, but the ghosts in the search engine machine decree it needs to be mentioned for every Nintendo showcase.
OK, so let’s focus on some somewhat more likely games, with the delayed Mina the Hollower needing a firm date to launch this spring, Super Meat Boy 3D having literally just been confirmed for Switch 2, but still needing a release date, and we really need an update on the creepy life sim Neverway.
There’s been a little bit of bustle to the start of 2026 from Nintendo. The Partner Direct at the start of February saw the announcement of games like Valheim coming to Switch 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s Switch 2 release date, great looking footage for Resident Evil Requiem, and a batch of Bethesda announcements. That was followed up at the end of last week with the Pokémon Day stream which brought with it the reveal of Pokémon Winds and Waves, which looks pretty great.
Of course, game launches are what really matters, and while there’s still Switch 2 Editions trickling out (to greater and lesser degree if you’re a Xenoblade fan), Nintendo has served up Mario Tennis Fever and we’re just about to see Pokémon Pokopia’s launch later this week, which is just cosy gaming personified.
But… tomorrow’s just about the Indies. Come back for all the headlines!
