Go swinging with your friends in Heave Ho 2 – Coming to PC, Switch and Switch 2 this summer

Ah, the summer of 2019. What a time that was, eh? When Le Cartel’s long-armed party game have everyone linking limbs and going swinging through its levels? Want to relive the Tarzan-like convivial couplings? Well, here’s Heave Ho 2, coming to PC and Switch and Switch 2 this summer!

As with the original, Heave Ho 2 can be played with two to four players – no, you can’t just play with yourself in this game – and it’s all about grabbing onto your friends and coordinating when you swing and let go to reach the end of a stage.

There’s eight themed worlds for this sequel – a medieval land, a space station, a kitchen – but what’s new are the locational shenanigans, so you’ll be cooking, you’ll be flying a rocket and more. There’s also a versus mode.

The co-op can be played locally, or via online multiplayer, and on Switch 2, there’s support for GameShare with up to four people online, so you don’t all have to buy a copy. That’s quite nice.

In our review of the original Heave Ho, Jim said, “Heave Ho is a true test of friendship and you’ll find that many of its stages will force (or at least encourage) everyone to link up and work together, usually swinging together to create a pendulum in order to progress. However, making sure everyone is grabbing onto what they’re supposed to is the real challenge. Having someone let go with their left arm instead of their right, or perhaps timing an action poorly, can and will have frustratingly hilarious consequences.”
