Capcom has announced a slight change for the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, bringing its release date forward by three weeks to 4th September.

The previous release date, announced during Sony’s State of Play, had the game joining a crunch week of releases at the end of the month, as countless game developers and publishers looked to avoid releasing too close to GTA 6. Jumping forward to the start of September could hopefully gain it a little more breathing room, though it’s now coming a day after The Blood of Dawnwalker, within a week of the releases of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and just 11 days before Marvel’s Wolverine.

A demo of Onimusha: Way of the Sword is still available across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and playing this will grant a Kubi Akari charm in the full game, so long as save data is found. Additionally, buying the game before 24th September will grant players an Early Adopter Bonus.
