11 bit Studios has confirmed that Moonlighter 2 will be getting its full release on September 2nd, having been in early access since November. Additionally, the original Moonlighter is going to be available for free on Steam from today until August 9th. You can claim it and keep it forever once the offer goes live. Moonlighter 2’s full release will include the new Bomb Path, which causes enemies to explode after some hits. There will also be new weapons and armours, while Will’s shop will be upgraded with more Bloblet slots, more cosmetics, and more space. The Infinite Endless Vault will be available postgame adding gold run gauntlets for players to challenge themselves with. Hardcode mode will be added where if you fail in a dungeon you are sent to the very beginning.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Early Access Review
In our early access review for Moonlighter 2, Jason wrote, “On the whole, I’m enjoying Moonlighter 2’s Early Access release. It’s a decent mechanical upgrade over the original game in the majority of areas, but it’s also fair to say that it’s losing a little something in the transition, and I find it a bit less whimsical. If you want more stuff to do and love a meta-grind though, then this game should satisfy that nicely.”
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS, Xbox Game Pass, and Switch 2. There is also a demo available on all platforms.
