Ubisoft has announced that it is delaying the release date of Rayman Legends Retold from October 1st to December 3rd, stating that additional time is needed for development. In an attempt to take the sting out of the news, Ubisoft has said that a new gameplay overview trailer will be released on September 22nd, with press and influencers also sharing impressions of the game on that same day. We’ve already had some time with it, and you can watch our preview below.
In a message, Ubisoft said, “Hello Rayman fans. Rayman Legends Retold will now release on December 3rd. While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves. In the meantime, we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on, starting with a Game Overview trailer on September 22. That same day, a selection of creators and press will share fresh hands-on impressions. On behalf of all the teams working on this game, thank you for patience, support and trust.”
We can look back tot he original and Peter’s review of Rayman Legends, where he said, “Rayman Legends doesn’t need a thousand words of explanation and assessment. It’s not a weighty, narrative driven game that will make you postulate meanings or attribute deep allegorical intentions. This is a game about not thinking, it’s a game about letting go and just enjoying the colours and sounds and swirling, bouncing happiness that’s taking up your screen. You’ll have to practice elements, you’ll need to learn locations of hidden areas and timings of jump sequences to progress. But you’ll certainly never be bored.”
Rayman Legends Retold will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS, and Switch 2.
