SEGA has announced that Binary Domain will be released in Europe on February 17th and North America on February 14th. Set in the year 2080 in Tokyo, the game challenges you, the leader of an international peace keeping force, to fight off waves of robotic invaders. Toshihiro Nagoshi, creator of the Yakuza series, describes it like this:
“What I wanted to create this time was a dramatic and energetic sci-fi shooter. When you hear sci-fi you may think of cold, clinical environments but with Binary Domain I wanted to combine this with a deep human drama.
The keyword we have in mind for this project is ‘Life’. I wanted to make something that will be accepted by both the Japanese and Western markets, and this fundamental theme is something everyone knows but which the full extent of can be difficult to grasp.”
Check out the teaser below. We’ve posted it before, but it never hurts to have a refresher.

Big macho men, token woman, cheesy dialogue, my favourite.. I’ll try a demo if there’s one, but I doubt it will be my thing.

Deep human drama? >_>
I feel like this marks one decade of SEGA publishing disappointing games, apart from maybe Phantasy Star.

I’ve been finding this game quite interesting… until I saw that teaser just now. Never seen that before and it just killed my interest.

I just hope the devs use the talent from the brilliant Yakuza, the story should be greatbut I fear the gameplay isn’t the way to go.
