First Gears 3 Map Pack Outed?

It’s common practice nowadays for developers to have downloadable content in the wings even before their products ship, Gears of War 3 being no exception (especially with the almost half a year of added “finishing touches.”) Aside from having campaign DLC in the works, it appears that additional maps have also been planned for the chart-topping cover-based shooter, one Xbox Live user spotting three new additions to the existing roster.

At present all we have are the three names Blood Drive, Azura, and Rustlung; presumably the first being a re-make of the popular Gears of War 2 multiplayer map.

  1. So as weapon skins cost £30, does that mean that maps will cost in teh region of £90 or something?

    Seems fair. :S

  2. Cannot wait for the DLC, The Xbox may have only had a couple of exclusives but this is easilly the best console exclusive I’ve played this year.

Either this or Portal 2 for Game of the Year IMO. Nothing else comes close.

    • The game have just been released and you cannot wait for A DLC already?

      • Yup, took the week off work last week, beat the Campaign and the Hoarde mode on Hardcore, hoping to get insane mode done with my 2 brothers and mate on 4 player co op soon.

It’s safe to say I’ve played the hell out of it for the week, and whilst my gaming time will reduce now I’m back to work, I still reckon I’ll get a few hours in on weekends.

  3. lets hope its only a fiver and i’ll think about buying it, maybe.

  4. But what happened to their new policy of releasing textures at rippoff prices? I liked that policy. :p

Hmm, i wonder if they will try to outprice the COD map packs? :-/ Okay, i’ll stop taking the pie out of them. Wait, the game was only released last week and there are plenty of DLC in the making!? :O

  5. -__- this trend is getting annoying now. Why didn’t they release these maps with the game? You’re already getting 5 maps less than Gears 2 (if you didn’t pre order).

People should not buy them off of principal, but they won’t. Seeming as though this is the last GoW, I think the prices will be ludicrous for some time to come.
