To celebrate the launch of its much anticipated subscription-free MMORPG, ArenaNet has uploaded a flashy live action Guild Wars 2 promo.
Sequel to the immensely popular 2005 original, Guild Wars 2 has already garnered a spread of accolades from the gaming press and even pushed past Sleeping Dogs to claim number position on last week’s UK charts.

ArenaNet has certainly taken the trailer in a direction we weren’t expecting. With that said, the live action is sadly limited to a number of actors sifting menacingly through smoky back alleys. For a minute, I was almost convinced that the studio was trying to market Funcom’s latest MMO, The Secret World.

I’m in f*ing love with this game.
Even Angry Joe gave it a 10/10, and his grade system is one that gives small numbers even on good games.

I’m pretty stoked to get it myself. However, the price is wee bit too steep at the moment (best I’ve seen it for in shops is £50). Will definitely pick it up as soon as it dips below the £30 mark.

Keep an eye on http://www.hotukdeals.com they’ll be the first to tell you when it dips below £30. The current cheapest if you cant wait is £34.96 here : https://www.coolshop.co.uk/catalog/product/74643-guild_wars_2_code_via_email_pc

I can’t wait to get this game. Loved the first one, and this one is looking so awesome. Although, i have been making do with a rubbish laptop for a few years now so i’m eyeing up a new desktop, which i haven’t had for years. I’d forgotten just how superior they are to laptops!

If you have the time build your own! Its not as hard as you’d think and your money will go further.
Louise
I would but i;ve been told that can work out more expensive now. Instead, i’m buying a desktop with an amazing CPU, okay RAM and terrible graphics card which i’ll replace. I’ll also get a solid state drive, install windows on that and have the 500gb drive it comes with as a storage for games. I’m gonna end up with a desktop pc with a WEI score of 7.4 all round and it’s only gonna cost me what £400-£500? :D

i5 £145
8gb RAM £30
ASUS P8P67 £90
Decent mid tower case £50-£60
Good 650w PSU £60
500gb HDD £40
120gb ssd £60
Throw in a new heatsink at £20
AMD 7850 2GB £150.
Thats about £600. I think you get a lot more for your money there. Ill happily give you links for all the parts if you want.

Well, this is the one i was gonna go for

I wanted to go for AMD rather than Intel in terms of Processors. I’ve never been too keen on the i generation of Intel processors, as i feel you usually and up paying more, for less power.
I have a feeling the Power Supply will be naff though. I’ll definitely end up getting a graphics card similar to the 7850, but again, i’ll probably go Nvidia as i’ve always liked them :P But that can wait at the start, as the 6570 won’t be too bad as i won’t be using for extreme games right off the bat. I’m just desperate to play Guild Wars 2 :P

AMD’s bulldozer (FX CPU’s) are notoriously terrible compared to intel. The i5 2500k is probably the best overall CPU n the market. Its not a bad price but you are getting a terrible PSU, case, GPU, CPU and motherboard. Its outdated quite a bit. Its always best with PC’s to futureproof the first time you build as you’ll save yourself a lot of money. I learnt that the hard way :P
Louise
Ahhhhh, okay. You might have just saved me from making a terrible mistake then!
I’ll look into what you suggested!

That is a bit of a crap trailer. The first half of it looks like it is an advert for the Sercet World. The second half, seems like a random scene from any film. Why didn’t they just have a massive battle either in CGI or live action then throw in a lot of gameplay? As this trailer doesn’t even get me interested in GW2.
Kite
GW2 has no CGI in game. …at all!
It has no opeing cinematic, and the videos you see in the game as you progres the personal story, are done ether with in-game graphics, or using moving paintings like the character intros to be easily customisable..
