  1. Aww, a little crush have we?
(did you make the paper yourself?)

    • I can’t speak for Mr. Scriptor ;)
Peter did all of the presentation stuff.

    • it’s all created digitally, yeah.

      • It’s well done! How did you make the folded paper effect? I tried making it with gradients earlier this year, but it didn’t work out.

      • it’s done with a mid-grey to mid-grey (so a single colour) gradient with opacity stops at 33% and 66% spacing. If you just wanted a single fold in the middle you’d just set up one opacity stop at 50%.

Set in its own layer above your paper texture as one full length gradient (the opacity stops look after the repeat), set layer blending to multiply and dial down the opacity until it looks convincing enough.

      • I actually thought you’d photographed real paper. Good job.

      • Likewise. Or that you had used a digital mask of some sort from the web. Very nice.

      • Oh, fantastic! I tried with a two-colour gradient, and that didn’t work. Thanks, I’m going to have to try it out! :-D

  2. Is there spoilers before I read this? I’ve barely scratched the surface yet. Just after you have to choose a baseball and throw it.

  3. Elizabeth is easily one of the best written characters of 2013. She actually feels like a person instead of something that is just there. She interacts with parts of the scenery and helps you in combat. More importantly, she can take care of herself thus you don’t have to worry about protecting her. We need more characters that are like Elizabeth.

    • Have you finished the game, fella?

      • Yes and they just had to make the ending 10 times sadder then Bioshock 2’s one. T-T. It is written extremely well.

    • The ending was sad for you??

I can be quite emotional but there certainly wasnt anything of the end that made me feel sad.

  4. Finished Bioshock infinite yesterday, utterly fantastic and looking forward to playing it through a few more times (If only to work out all the kinks in the story that I don’t quite get yet), even if I did have an inkling where the story was going.

I did like Elizabeth and some sections involving her are actually quite distressing and I hope that the DLC will continue her story.

    • I played the ending twice before it all ‘clicked’.

      • And you kept asking people on Twitter if they had complete it, before the game was even out, then kept asking about it. ;)

  5. This is brilliant, loving the letter head style too. I must say I’m really enjoying the company so far, and the help in combat from Elizabeth. Only early days into the game so far, so story is only starting to get up to full pace. Lovely game though.

  6. Just started playing Infinite today. Just got a bollocking from Elizabeth for killing loads of guys at the airship station – really looking forward to the rest of the game now :)

  7. Where’s the Like button? Awesome work.

  8. Have literally just finished Infinite and the ending is sublime, if a little bit messing with your mind. Not sure I could ever sell this game, for any reason it’s that good. Great article though and love the format.

  9. Finsihed it over Easter. There’s one bit at the end which made me squee but the twist was so obviously signposted it was a bit of a let down. It just went a bit too sci-fi for my liking.

    8/10

  10. Fantastic letter I could do with printing it off on some fancy paper for my bioshock collection!!
