Machinarium Arrives On Vita Next Week

The hugely popular point and click adventure Machinarium arrives on PlayStation Vita on the 1st of May.  The title from Amanita Design will be priced at £5.99 and its release on Vita marks the eighth platform that it is available for following its original outing on PC in 2009.

The game sees you take on the role of a robot called Josef, who tackles the misdeeds of the Black Cap Brotherhood by solving a series of puzzles and brainteasers.  The game benefits from fantastic art direction, and even the game’s dialogue is presented through animated thought bubbles rather than text or speech.

Jakub Dvorsky, the game’s designer, has hailed the Vita version as being “even better” than the previous definitive version on the PS3 due to the addition of magnetic hotspots and the ability to zoom in, meaning that if you’ve yet to experience this unique adventure, and own a Vita, you only have a short wait to play the best version of one of the most acclaimed point and click games of recent years.

  1. Hmm. Might be tempted by this but I’m still not convinced in general by point and clicks (though I thought tiny bang story on ipad, if that counts, was brilliant).

  2. Doubtful, but any chance it’s cross-buy? I mean, people who bought the PS3 version can get this for free?

  3. I already own the game on PC and Android and I can’t beat it without a guide, which defeats the purpose of the game… I’m not going to make myself aware of how stupid I am again… ^^
They should bring Botanicula to the Vita, though. I did fairly well in that on the PC!

  4. Four years after release. Great stuff, Sony! :-P

  5. Sweet, love old school point n clicks

  6. No thanks.

Great game, but got it on Android about a year ago for £2.
