Out This Week: OlliOlli & Dragon Ball Z

Rather expectedly this week’s release schedule is a bit quiet, on consoles and handhelds at least. January is often a slow-moving month with this year’s first hits dropping mid-February. Still, there’s plenty of fun to be had as demonstrated by this week’s lonesome pair.

OlliOlli | Vita | Wednesday

Fresh out of UK-based developer Roll7, OlliOlli is a skateboarding game with a twist. Unlike former masters of extreme sports genre, Roll7’s PlayStation Vita exclusive does away with 3D graphics while ramping up the difficulty.

Boasting over 120 tricks, 250 challenges, and 50 levels it’s hardly short on content and will continually push players to go that little bit further when trying to stack a rad high score.

The price has been revealed as £7.99, with a discount for PS Plus subscribers bringing that down to £6.39. We’ll have a review of the game later today.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z | PS3, 360, Vita | Friday

It’s been a while since Goku and the gang’s last outing, returning this week with Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. Developed by Artdink, this latest instalment in series looks to share the core gameplay of previous iterations, throwing iconic characters into spacious arenas and seeing what happens.

Expect a shed load of playable characters, some of which have their own unique transformations. Another feature fans can look forward to is co-op battles. Whether against a single target or another team of four, players can throw down side-by-side with their friends online. Giant boss battles have also been confirmed as shown in the trailer above.
