Out This Week: Phoenix Wright, Diablo III & Invizimals

Not even waiting for the dust to settle this week we have even more gaming goodness as we fly towards April. Leading the pack is today’s launch of Diablo III: Reaper Of Souls, followed by a double dose of Invizimals and even more Vita loving.

Diablo III: Reaper Of Souls | PC | Today

This week’s listing kicks off with a much-anticipated PC expansion. Reaper of Souls will bring a slew of new content to Blizzard’s iconic dungeon-crawling sequel with a console port expected in the near future.

Aside from raising the level cap from 60 to 70, there’s a new class that has been thrown into the mix. The Crusader is high defence character specialising in holy magic. An all new “Adventure Mode” is also in there, allowing players to roam freely, dipping in and out of random dungeons.

Invizimals: The Alliance | PS Vita | Friday

The Alliance is the fourth instalment in Sony’s popular augmented reality series. Featuring a variety of collectable, customisable creatures, there’s a clear Pokémon vibe going on that also carries into the game’s battle system.

This latest addition will also have cross-compatibility with Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom, a third person action game also due out this week.

Check out our preview from Sony’s Summer showcase last year.

Deception IV: Blood Ties | PS Vita | Friday

If there’s one thing we can all appreciate about Sony’s snazzy handheld, it’s the number of Japanese imports we seem to be getting.

Tecmo KOEI seem to be at the forefront this year with Toukiden already under the belt and a Dynasty Warriors 8 port in the pipeline.

Still, neither of them are quite as quirky and twisted as Blood Ties. In this game you set up elaborate networks of traps, waiting to pounce on unsuspecting heroes who wander into your castle. Keep an eye for our review later this week.

MX GP | PS3, 360, PS Vita, PC | Friday

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney | 3DS | Friday

Now here’s crossover we didn’t expect to see. For a long time now Phoenix Wright and the good Professor have put a unique spin on old gaming genres.

As you may have guessed, Vs. brings the best from both worlds, combining Ace Attorney’s clue-finding and court battles with Layton’s mind-teasing puzzles.

  1. Looking forward to Diablo on PS4, and I’ll pick up Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright at a later time. Still playing games set in their separate worlds.

  2. Looking forward to your Deception 4 review. Will be picking either that or Ys up this month. (FFX will need to wait)

  3. I really hoped that was diablo 3 on the ps4. Is there any hint as to when it might be released?!
