PlayStation Store Update: 30/04/14 – Child Of Light, Daylight & Stick It To The Man

It might still be April, but today is the day that the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection gets updated with all of the content for May. Part of that sees Stick it to The Man being added for PlayStation 4, as it sees a release on the platform. If you’re not on PS+ for some reason, you’ll be able to pick it up separately for £6.79.

Following on from Outlast a few months ago, the survival horror genre sees its recent revival bolstered by another scary game. Daylight arrives on PS4 today, bringing its procedurally generated hospital of terror to you for £10.25/€11.99 or £8.20/€9.59 on PS+. However, if you’re after some more scares, you’ll want to buy it soon as it will step up to £12.79/€14.99 on May 14th.

We also have Child of Light, Ubisoft’s whimsically poetic platform RPG which Aran gave a wonderful review earlier this week, coming as a Cross-Buy bundle to PS3 and PS4 for £11.99/€14.99, while later on this week, alongside its retail release on Friday, the PS4 will get its first bit of web-slinging action as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings onto the scene on PS3 for £39.99/€49.99, and PS4 for £49.99/€59.99.

The PS Vita isn’t left out of proceedings, though it is having a fairly quiet week, as there’s a release of Ragnarok Odyssey ACE on PS Vita alongside the PS3 version for £23.99/€29.99 each. It doesn’t appear to be a Cross-Buy title, from what I can see, but does feature Cross-Play, so that mixed parties of four PS3 and Vita players can join forces for some action RPG adventuring.

For more JRPG action, last week’s retail release of Demon Gaze has now been added to the PSN store for Vita, coming in at £31.99/€39.99.

Elsewhere, there are demos for Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars on Vita and LEGO The Hobbit on PS3, while we have belated digital PS3 releases of One Piece Pirate Warriors 2: Prestige Edition, for £47.99/€59.99, Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends for £19.99/€29.99, as well as Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for PSP, at £7.99/€9.99 each.

But Sunday wouldn’t be May 4th without a speech impediment-based Star Wars joke and a themed sale (which you can read all about on the blog). Alongside the recent news of Star Wars VII’s cast, Zen Pinball 2 is getting a fresh pack of Star Wars themed tables, featuring Han Solo, Droids, Episode IV – A New Hope! and Masters of the Force. It’ll set you back £7.99/€9.99 and features Cross-Buy, though you MUST buy on PS3 or Vita first and then use the import feature on the PS4 to get it across all three platforms.

That seems to be everything this week, but as per usual I’ll return to this post once the EU PS Blog has gone live and update anything that is missing, whether it’s links, prices or whole games!

Update: Added prices, links and Dynasty Warriors 7.

  3. Not sure about Stick it to the Man, it looks very strange, but as it’s free on PS+ I’ll download it and say thank you.

    • I bought this on PS3 a few months ago, after watching the Launch Trailer, and I am so glad I did. The concept is quite strange… a twist on the ‘Monkey Island’ type game genre (Is that just point & click?). It’s biggest charm is the writing. Rare to find genuinely funny writing in games nowadays but this game achieves many laughs. The graphics are quite unique as well, a world created with cardboard. I would highly recommend people buying this game but if you are a PS+ subscriber than don’t think twice about trying it out. An original gem. My personal score for the game would be 9.1/10.

i’m looking forward to playing Puppeteer and Murumasa Rebirth, and i’ve been playing the Everybody’s Golf series since PS1, so one more of them is always welcome.

  6. Looking forward to Everybody’s Golf especially as it played and looked ace on PS3 so transition to Vita should be wonderful. A great plus offering which I would definately have bought some day…ah well, no need ;)
