If you played any of the previous Guitar Hero games then you know what Star Power is. This was  perk that was acquired if you hit all the star notes in a sequence, and then activated by tilting the guitar controller, or by pushing a button on the control pad. Following that all the notes would turn blue signifying the star power in action, and allowed for score multipliers to increase. Star Power is a big part of Guitar Hero. However it is now getting a rebrand and will be called Hero Powers, which can be used in Guitar Hero TV to improve scores to level up faster.
The powers are as follows.
- Clear Highway – Removes all immediate notes from your note highway instantly. The notes are counts as hits, which adds to your score, score streak and score multiplier.
- Double Multiplier – Your score multiplier will double for the duration of the Hero Power.
- Dial Down – Temporarily reduces the frequency of notes that appear in the note highway. This is especially effective during difficult portions of the song to maintain a big score multiplier
- Dial Up – Temporarily increases the frequency of notes that appear in the note highway, therefore giving you a chance to increase your score.
- Score Chaser – Maximum score multiplier is temporarily doubled.
- Safety Net – Holds your multiplier and score streak at its current value.
- Invincibility – Temporarily hits all notes, and missing notes do not register.
Guitar Hero Live will release on October 23rd for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U.
