Another wonderful week here at TSA towers is drawing to an end, which means it’s time for another edition of What We Played. It was a bit of light week for our gaming schedule but that’s certainly not going to stop us from telling you all about what we did manage to play.
Dave starts us off this week with Zelda Tri Force Heroes as he’s been getting in a bit of multiplayer with other staffers, but that pesky embargo is keeping us from sharing any details. He’s also been getting his weekly scare with Project Zero: Maiden of the Black Water, and he managed more time for Hearthstone, hitting level 20 for the month.
Dom began his week with Blood Bowl 2, which he says is quite good so far, and he’s been brushing up on his Halo prior to the launch of Halo 5 next month. He also found time for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Rainbow Moon, Etrian Mystery Dungeon, and LEGO Marvel Superheroes. Finally, he grabbed a 2TB drive for use with his PS4, but said he ended up using it with his Xbox One, which wasn’t a big deal since the drives on both consoles were full.
Neither Aran or Tuffcub had much to report this week, but Aran is currently working with PES 16 for review and he wrote this nice piece on The Book Of Unwritten Tales 2 on PS4, while Tuffcub was mostly stuck with Destiny, and Geometry Wars 3 on Vita. Oh, and don’t forget to read Tuffcub’s review for SOMA that went live a few days ago.
Stefan had a busy week on the site starting with the preview he wrote up for Sublevel Zero. He also played a bit more of Destiny’s newest expansion and wrote up a review for it. He also spent time with a new add-on for Cities: Skylines and wrote up a nice piece, and he got back in touch with his inner child  by playing with LEGO Dimensions. Finally, he put together a lovely preview for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and he published an interview he recently conducted with a couple of the guys currently working on Total War: Warhammer.
Mark mostly spent his time with Destiny this week, as he’s working his way through the first two expansions before tackling The Taken King. He said he’s loving some of the new changes Bungie made, and he’s quite fond of the new ranking system that doesn’t involve light stats.
Elsewhere, Jim has dedicated his week to the ever-expanding “Toys to Life” genre. Starting with Disney Infinity 3.0, he’s now moved onto this year’s instalment of Skylanders, the racing-focused SuperChargers. So far, it’s shaping up to be the best, most diverse game in the franchise, juxtaposing combat and adventuring with arcade races.
As for me, I kept going through Mad Max, which paired nicely with watching the original movie again for the first time in ages. Though, I have to admit that the movie hasn’t aged very well. I also went back to Grand Theft Auto V for the first time in many months, and had a good time just messing about in multiplayer with a friend while causing unreasonable amounts of destruction and mayhem.
So that’s out story for the week. Now how about you? Any recent success stories to share? Have you shattered any controllers or kicked your telly out of frustration in the past week? If so, let us hear all about it, and if not, still tell us what you’ve been playing and how you’re getting along.

Picked up Trials Fusion Super Extreme Turbo Maximum Hyper edition in Asda for £10. It was brilliant fun for about an hour. Then it just got sooooo insanely difficult, I had to turn it off. Oh well, only a fortnight until Uncharted Trilogy! Also, as a side note, had an iPhone 6s arrive today, so will be playing with that most of the weekend.

If you crack through enough training levels then you can skip straight to the Max Adventures, which is a hoot.

Yeah, I got quite far. Unlocked all the stages. But just started getting frustrated. Need to play with other people to keep stress levels down, lol!

How’s the new iPhone? Is the touch depth thing as revolutionary as Jony ‘Talk Slow’ I’ve made out? I can imagine there’s some very pretty games on the wee beast, it’s amazing how far things have come since that first iPhone back in 2007.

Spent more on and off time with the Witcher 3 (and still getting nowhere), otherwise I went back to the PS3 and played through and completed Uncharted 2. There were some very frustrating parts which although not controller smashing level were annoying enough to make me prefer 3. The environments being a bit too samey also didn’t help. Given that the online appears to be deader than dead too for that one MP trophy I probably won’t bother replaying it for the platinum.
Also downloaded the Rainbow Six:Seige beta last night so that will be tonights entertainment – providing the servers are stable! Anyone else in it and fancy teaming up then give us a shout.

More Borderlands 2 co-op with Forrest and Pixel. We finished off the main missions in the Tiny Tina dlc.
More Dying Light co-op with Forrest, Pixel and berzerka.
Played a fair bit of Pumped BMX+.
Picked up F1 2015 and had a few races last night.
Most of my gaming time this week though has been with Mad Max, I’ve cleared out all the main camps, destroyed all scarecrows, snipers and convoys and defused all minefields. Still a long way off the platinum though as there is still a lot of stuff to do (including actually finishing off the main story and some side missions).

Update – Mad Max story finished. Just clearing up left … about 80 scavenger locations, most of the races and about 30 or so challenges (still probably a good 10+ hours to get all that done).

I’ve been playing Ni No Kuni all week. Great game.
zb100
Yes. Sorely hankering for episode 2 on the 4.
Carrot381
I saw mention of it somewhere online. Is it confirmed?
zb100
Still just a rumour though a member of staff commented via Twitter in April that it is coming to ps4.

MGS:V. Oh, and I tried out the Rainbow Six Siege technical beta. Picked up Mad Max and Until Dawn as well, but the Metal Gear pull is too strong right now. I’m sure Ill get to them one day

I’ve been playing Box Tetris! It’s where you buy a house that is big enough for all your stuff but not whilst it’s packed away, so shuffling and slotting skills are called upon whilst you frantically search for that box that has your shoes in. The golden rule is that once you peer into a box you must unpack its contents, otherwise the wife-boss will take your life away. Box Tetris and a bit of MGSV while my wife-boss was in the bath. It’s nice having a bath, and a proper kitchen, and a garden!

I’ve loving PES this week absolutely great game, even though I’m rubbish online. I used to be quite good at it but these young whiper-snappers keep beating me. Also tried Destiny out last night and I’m loving that and I quite like Nolan North’s ghost. Which is surprise as I think Dinklage is great. Also the usual GTA as well and I’ve seen my day 1 ps4 go to good friend of mine.

Mostly The Witcher 3, enjoyed the change of pace of the missions in Novigrad city and have moved on to Skellige now. Also had a few jaunts in Driveclub, played a few more levels of Leo’s Fortune and managed to unlock the fourth planet in Super Stardust Ultra.
The Lone Steven
After taking a break from MGS V, I’ve moved onto LA noire and it is a good game but apart from the cases, there is virtually nothing worth while to do. I do find myself getting a bit pissed off when a perp is lying to me and there was virtually no indicator to that lie. Hell, if you don’t look at their eyes, they could get away with lying. The detective aspect is rather good and it is a massive shame Bondi got shut down as LA Noire had potential as a franchise. If Rockstar has the rights to it, they should do a sequel set in the 50s or 60s with all the game’s flaws corrected.
Also been whopping some candy ass in WWE2k13 and it is a cheating bastard. It will either go from reversing most moves and no-selling finishers to just being there. Attitude mode is good though.

More Driveclub again, plus a couple of hours co-op ghost recon future soldier with Avenger, which was fun but very frustrating due to some chronic A I mixed in with crap save points. Just love doing whole levels over and over due to not being revived by our computer controlled buddies!
