UK Chart 24/10/15: Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Is The New Number One

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has managed to take the top place in the chart, ending FIFA 16’s four week run in first. However Syndicate didn’t sell as many units as Unity did at launch, but had the advantage of not facing a Call of Duty title unlike the Paris set Assassin title. In fact Syndicate is the second lowest selling major Assassin’s Creed title, with Rogue performing the worst. FIFA 16 fell to second and Guitar Hero Live made its début in third place.

The Legend Of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes entered the chart at 11th, while Watch Dogs flew back into the top 20 in 12th place, though this is down to certain console bundles that had the game bundled with Syndicate. Just Dance 2016 was the final top 20 débutant in 19th.

  1. Good to see Guitar Hero Live up there. Didn’t expect Uncharted to be hold down a spot in the top five either!

    • do you know easy it is for a game to top the chart in UK? its not alot and these sales are bad.

  2. I’m happy to see Witcher 3 is still doing well. Best game on PS4!

  3. AC – no 1. Just goes to show that developers can keep on releasing buggy games year after year and people will lap them up. There is no consequence now for them. Why wouldnt they when people just carry on buying regardless.

After Unity, this years AC should have bombed.

    • By the looks of things, it’s not sold as well (although that chart is only physical sales, and downloads may it somewhere between “inaccurate and not the full picture” and “complete bollocks”).

So maybe people were put off by the problems Unity allegedly had (not that I ever saw any problems, but it was patched by the time I got it).

It really would be a bit stupid to totally avoid Syndicate because Unity was a bit buggy on release though, wouldn’t it? Especially after everyone’s been saying it’s not buggy and it’s been getting good reviews. And both games were developed by different teams, with Syndicate probably being in development before Unity was even released.

As for “no consequence”, sales appear to be down for Syndicate, Unity presumably didn’t do anywhere near as well as it could have done (even after everything was fixed), and they gave anyone who bought the season pass for Unity a game that was worth more than the season pass.

But now you want to punish a different set of developers for something that happened ages ago? Seems mildly childish.

      • My main issue with it is I feel like each game holds your hand all the time and as a consequence there’s no real challenge and so you never feel like the badass you’re meant to be. It’s like being Superman but with no super villains to take on, feels a bit pointless.

  4. I forgot that there was a Littlebig planet 3. :O

As for AC:S(which may have already been given to Unity due to the bugs.;), it’s unsurprising as that it’s at number 1 as it’s still have a lot of appeal. Hell, if i had a PS4, the cash and willing to risk Unity 2.0, i would pick it up. With Fallout 4 being out in a few weeks followed by COD, it’ll be interesting to see how AC:S will cope. I bet COD will dominate the charts for a while whilst Fallout 4 beats AC:S to second place.

  5. Not surprised to see AC Syndicate at number 1. It’s still a popular franchise despite it’s flaws.

Has anyone here actually played it? How do you rate it? Is it just AC Unity in London?

  6. Glad to see Uncharted hasn’t fallen sharply. Replaying Uncharted 2 at the moment and forgot how much fun these games were. They look great too.

LEGO JW holding steady. Probably my favourite LEGO game after Marvel.

  7. I picked up the new Assassins Creed, due to having a strange love of all things Victorian, and I have to say that I have enjoyed it immensely. There have been a few frustrations along the way, due to sometimes iffy controls, but other than that, it’s great – a solid 8/10 from me. I still have a way to go, but highlights have been the atmosphere of the times, covering the hardships and also the genius of some of the minds in that era. I also like the open way in which you can take on some of the missions.

I have also noticed no bugs or poor performance in 10 – 15 hours.
