I know video games are getting rather niche these days, you can simulate being a bear, harvest corn, or work as border guard in an oppressive regime, but I’d love to know who thought “driving in mud” was good basis for a video game.
Nevertheless that is exactly what Spintires: MudRunner is all about, and it’s sold a million of copies on PC so clearly there are a lot of people who like a secret sploosh now and then. The game is now heading to PlayStation 4, and you can check out some muddy fun below.

So niche, and yet there’s still no proper skateboarding game for this generation. To be fair, I think I’d quite enjoy this game, for a bit at least.

I never got around to getting Spintires, but I’ll certainly keep my eye on Mudrunner. I think there was some uproar between the developer and publisher, but hopefully that’s now been sorted…

This looks really good, surprisingly so! I’ve never done any off-road driving but the idea of some rubbery muddy sploosh is very appealing.

I thought this was going to be a joke game with bad graphics when I saw the headline, but that looks bloody brilliant! I love the physics of the mud and water. Looking forward to this one.
