SnowRunner, the immensely challenging haulage simulator sequel, will finally be making its way to Steam next month, more than a year after its initial release date.
Previously SnowRunner has been available to purchase on PC via the Epic Games Store (causing a ruckus among the Steam Spintires and MudRunner community) as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S thanks to their backwards compatibility).

The Steam version of SnowRunner will officially launch on May 18th. It doesn’t feature any new or exclusive content yet benefits from a slew of post-launch updates since its original release in 2020 as outlined below:
Get the full SnowRunner experience for the first time on Steam, benefitting from a years’ worth of free content and additions. Overcome mud, torrential waters, snow, and frozen lakes while taking on perilous contracts and missions. Expand and customize your fleet with many upgrades and accessories including an exhaust snorkel for heavy waters or chain tires to battle the snow. Ride solo or with other players in 4-player co-operative multiplayer and expand your SnowRunner experience with community-created mods and truckloads of additional content!
SnowRunner fans will want to mark May 18th in their calendars for another reason, the game also making a leap onto the Nintendo Switch.
The game recently celebrated its third major content drop as part of the SnowRunner Season Pass. Season 3: Locate & Deliver adds an entire new region (Wisconsin, United States) with two new maps and more vehicles to purchase and customise. You can snap it up for £5.49 as standalone DLC or as part of the SnowRunner Season Pass for £19.99 (Season 4 is currently in the pipeline).
Dom reviewed SnowRunner upon its release last April, scoring the Murdrunner sequel a stunning 9 out of 10. Here’s what he had to say:
“SnowRunner is a game thoroughly, single-mindedly, in love with the open road. It just happens that it’s the kind of love that’s bred by getting that road so thoroughly under your nails, you occasionally have to wonder whether it’s actually hate. Care, attention and time will show that SnowRunner is a passion project worth putting the extra mile in for.”
