EA has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain and France footballer Kylian Mbappé will be the cover star for FIFA 22. This will mark the second time that the 22 year old makes the cover, with his first appearance being for last year’s FIFA 21. Kylian Mbappé is coming off a strong 2020/21 Ligue 1 season in which he scored a total of 42 goals in 47 matches across all competitions. However, at Euro 2020 he did not perform well scoring zero goals and getting just one assist in four matches. Mbappé’s and France’s hopes came to an end when his penalty was saved during a shootout against Switzerland.
EA has also confirmed that the official reveal trailer for FIFA 22 will be going live on July 11th at 16:30 BST, just a few hours before England face Italy in the Euro 2020 Final. That match is set to kick off at 8pm BST. It is likely that soon after the reveal trailer is released for FIFA 22 EA will give details about the different editions of FIFA 22 that will be available. It stands to reason that there will be a FIFA 22 Champions Edition and Ultimate Edition, both of which will come with extra packs for Ultimate Team, a few days early access, and some other bonuses for career mode.
