Vermintide 2 adds Warrior Priest to playable classes

vermintide 2 warrior priest new class dlc

Vermintide 2 has revealed a new playable class – Warhammer Fantasy’s zealous Warrior Priest.

Unveiled at The Game Awards ceremony by developer Fatshark, the Warrior Priest DLC is now available to purchase on Xbox One and PC (via Steam). It will come to PlayStation 4 early next year.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t a new Vermintide 2 character. Instead, the Warrior Priest is a bonus class (or career) available for Victor Saltzpyre. The surprise DLC drop will see him put down his rapier and dual pistols in favour of a mighty warhammer and a renewed religious fervour.

The Warrior Priest can also carry a tome or shield into battle with a new skill tree opening up to players. Priced at £2.99, here’s an overview of what this new class can do:

A Warrior Priest of Sigmar fights evil in all its forms, engaging in close combat with holy purpose. As a Warrior Priest, Saltzpyre draws upon faith to empower his blows and shield himself from harm. Wielding trusty hammers or combining them with a tome or shield, he calls upon divine might to inspire comrades and strike fear into his foes.

  • Smite the heretic with new unique weapon types: the Reckoner Great Hammer and the Skull-Splitter Hammer & Blessed Tome.
  • Refine your battle tactics with the Skull-Splitter Hammerweapon combinations:
  • Wield together with the Blessed Tome to invoke Sigmar’s Glory.
  • Combine with a shield for a perfect balance of attack and defence.
  • Dual-wield two Skull-Splitter Hammers for massive carnage.
  • Take up a shield and flail to enforce bloody penance.
  • Receive Sigmar’s blessings with the Warrior Priest’s unique new talent tree.
  • Unleash divine power to smite the Pactsworn or empower your allies with new unique abilities.
  • Don holy vestments and armor with an exclusive character skin and new voice lines.
  • Change the appearance of your Warrior Priest of Sigmar through the separately purchasable Warrior Priest Cosmetic Upgrade DLC.

In a recent update, Fatshark added Grudge Marks to make endgame content even more versatile and challenging.

Of course, what Games Workshop fans really want to know is when we’ll get our next glimpse of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. It’s been confirmed that the sci-fi survival shooter has been pushed back to 2022.
