Super Smash Bros Ultimate update on new Amiibo releases

Nintendo has posted a Super Smash Bros Ultimate update on its upcoming Amiibo range.

Since the popular crossover fighter launched on Nintendo Switch the roster of NFC figures has continued to expand, welcoming newcomers who weren’t featured in the previous 3DS and Wii U games.

The Super Smash Bros Ultimate update confirms that Min Mini – the 76th playable character who joined the game as part of the Fighter Pass DLC – will be available in Amiibo form April 29, 2022.

Next on the list is Steve & Alex, both Minecraft characters having made their Smash Bros debut in late 2020. Originally planned for a spring release, this pair of Amiibo figures has been pushed back due to a logistics and production delay.

After their eventual release, eyes will inevitably turn towards the next Amiibo candidate. Iconic Final Fantasy baddie, Sephiroth, is due to be turned into plastic next though there’s been no official confirmation on whether Nintendo continue to expand the Smash Bros figure range. That said, there will be plenty of die-hard fans out there wanting the full set of Amiibo.

Last year, the development team released their final Super Smash Bros Ultimate update with no more balance or gameplay changes planned in future. Any future updates will address minor bug fixes.
