Square Enix and developers Tactic Studios and TBS Games have revealed a brand new action social deduction game, Killer Inn.
Killer Inn takes the social deduction formula that’s become so popular over the last few years, and injects it with a big dose of action and a much larger group of players than usual.
Players are divided into Wolves and Lambs, with the Wolves trying to kill all of the Lambs, while the Lambs try to gather clues and figure out the Wolves. As players are murdered, clues are left behind that give hints as to who the killer was, helping the Lambs narrow down who the Wolves are.
When the Lambs are sure of their opponents, they can try to take them down in armed third person shooter-y combat, ganging up to take on their rivals with whoever they think are allies.
However, there’s plenty more to do through each round. Players can take on quests to earn tokens and gain upgrades, and there’s safe zones that can be used for discussions.
It’s certainly an interesting take on the genre that looks to push in some different directions.
Killer Inn will be coming to a closed beta test on Steam in the near future.
