Croteam has announced The Talos Principle 3, a grand finale for their acclaimed philosophical puzzle saga, will be coming soon to PC and PS5.
Once again you’ll be tasked with solving a string of increasingly challenging puzzles, this time finding yourself trapped within a contradictory world of ancient temples and science outposts known as the Anomaly. Here, the laws of physics are warped and don’t work as they should.
And to top it all off, your own memories are broken, so you’re exploring this place and piecing things together, reliving your life as an explorer, and the world build by humanity. “Some say the Anomaly is Heaven,” reads the announcement. :Some say it’s Hell. All that’s certain is that judgement awaits.”
The original game arrived in 2014 to great acclaim, with Croteam taking a much more cerebral approach to their world creation than they did with Serious Sam, delving into human philosophy as as post-mankind mind explores consciousness, self-determination and more. This game was eventually succeeded by The Talos Principle 2 in 2023, now with a growing society suddenly finding its understanding of the world challenged. A remake of the original arrived in 2025 for good measure, updating and reimagining certain aspects of it.
Looking back on the second game, Steve said in our review, “Talos Principle 2 is the best puzzler since 2011. This is as good as the genre gets and absolutely essential for puzzle game fans.”
