With the annual Warhammer Skulls showcase exploring all things Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 in video games once more, demos for two upcoming titles have been released onto Steam. You can now check out Warhammer Survivors and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II.
Let’s start with Warhammer Survivors, the licensed Warhammer spin-off from Vampire Survivors, created by Auroch Digital and POncle. It is coming out later this year for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 1 and 2, iOS and Android. Find the Steam demo here.
The demo lets you play as Boltgun star Malum Caedo as he defends the wastelands of an Imperial Bastion from swarms of Tyranids, or you can step into Age of Sigmar where Neave Blacktalon, a Stormcast Eternal warrior, slays Skaven across The Great Parch.
The new trailer revealed new enemy factions with the Death Guard and Blades of Khorne, as well as the two-in-one stage that is Age of Sigmar’s Hammerhal, facing both Khorne and Skaven across the split biomes. And it can all build up to a battle against a Great Unclean One, which features in the Gallowdark stage.
And then there’s the Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun II demo, also from Auroch Digital, and a sequel to their hit Boomer Shooter. This is coming out this year for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Find the Steam demo here.
The demo allows you to check out the new playable character, Battle Sister Nyra Veyrath, and how she compares to returning protagonist, Ultramarine Malum Caedo. Through the full game, both will be battling across various planets in the galaxy, facing down the forces of chaos through a variety of different biomes. The demo shows off two of these stages, with a swamp level featuring Nurgle foes and then an ice level where Khorne is ascendant. How different is Nyra to Malum? Well, she’s just an ordinary woman who happens to fervently believe in the divine will of the Emperor… which is to say she’s basically just as powerful, but has some different weapons, like a Power Sword and flamethrower. The flamethrower is going to be fun…
