A new community challenge has arrived in Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions, tasking the playing community to get a big driller and go drill up some Astral Flux.

Running until 2nd August, you’ve got to try to chip in and stockpile Astral Flux to aid the ESS Starseeker’s Flux Drive fuel shortage. This can be done just manually grabbing Astral Flux, but there’s also a new Field Ops which features a massive drill.

During this event – set on a large island to the northeast of the Wetlands or northwest of the Tangle – you’ll have to make sure that the EXO Drill Rover doesn’t overheat, by applying the Wet condition tot he drill with water canisters or the hose nozzle. You’ll also need to defend the drill from null fields, Kablooms and malfunctioning demolition devices.

There will be cosmetics and rewards for anyone that participates, even a little bit, so chipping in is worthwhile.

More broadly, the team is looking back on all the feedback taken through the game’s first month-ish in Early Access. Creative Director Adam Bromell has discussed some of the topics in a State of the Game update.

This is leading to some changes to the game roadmap, and the team will now look to prioritise key issues and requests from the community, once wrapping up work on mostly completed updates. A new roadmap will be published in the future.
